Manchester amongst the world’s best for Development Studies

The University of Manchester has been ranked in the top three in the world for Development Studies in the latest QS World University rankings.
David Hulme, joint Director at the Global Development Institute, said "We're delighted that the strength of Development Studies at The University of Manchester has been recognised in this international ranking. It's a real testament to the exceptional research and teaching undertaken here.”
In the QS World Rankings, The University of Manchester was ranked in third place for Development Studies behind only Harvard University and the University of Sussex. The annual subject rankings are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
At the end of 2014, Manchester was ranked second in the UK’s Research Excellence Framework for Anthropology and Development Studies.
